KAYAK CLINICS

 

Taught by ACA certified instructional guides Robby and Hilary Templeton, these clinics will improve skills and confidence.   Bring your own kayak, or let us help you with a rental.  All clinics are based on ACA curriculum.

 

 

Introduction to Kayaking

This is a full day kayak with no previous experience required.  We will cover all the essentials of kayaking with focus on stroke and maneuver skills and rescue techniques.  There will be a review of safety, equipment and some interesting kayak history as well.

Quick Start Kayak Clinic

This 3 hour class does not require previous experience and is designed to get you safely and comfortably out on the water.  We will do an equipment overview and get you started learning strokes and maneuvers.

Self Rescue Clinic

This 2 hour clinic focuses on techniques used to get yourself and your fellow paddlers back into your kayak when a problem arises.  We teach rescue sequences (“reach, throw, row and go”) as well as controlled capsize drills, how to empty a kayak and hand paddling a swamped kayak. 

 

 

Private Lessons

We recommend a two hour minimum to sharpen your kayak skills under private tutelage.
